Experiences
While in Costa Rica, we had a myriad of chances to go out and experience the country and the culture. From petting wild iguanas, to ziplining and white-water rafting, to playing a waterfall, to relaxing at a naturally warmed hot-springs, Costa Rica was full of fun.
Wild Iguanas
After leaving Don Juan's, and while on our way to La Selva and La Tirimbina, we stopped for fresh air, drinks, and ice cream. We also purposely stopped at an iguana hotspot. We got out of the bus, and could go right up to the iguanas. It was really cool, and the iguanas bodies were both rough and smooth, as well as scaly,
Ziplining
On just our third day, we went ziplining through the canopies with EcoGlide. It was amazing, and because we were in the canopies, the views were spectacular. The Tarzan Swing was also extremely fun.
White-Water Rafting
Even though I have lived in a state with many opportunities for rafting, I had actually never been white-water rafting before we did it in Costa Rica. The Class 3 & 4 rapids and the scenery of the Pacuare River were awesome, as was getting to cool off in the river. However, I still have a tan over a month after rafting!
Waterfall
This was the best surprise of the whole trip. Even though it was a spontaneous thing, and the walk down was extremely steep, it was still really fun to get to play in the waterfall, and to just let your body cascade down the small rapids (as long as you didn't get hurt; most of us, including me, did).
Ecotermales Hot Springs
Ecotermales Hot Springs is a hot springs that is naturally warmed due to the presence of the Arenal Volcano. It was supremely refreshing, and it was fun to go in the multiple waterfalls. The Piña Coladas were also great!
